There was a fire outbreak at a section of Dangote Refinery at Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, on Wednesday morning.
Though the cause of the fire could not be ascertained as of press time, workers at the refinery were evacuated out of the building amidst panic.
A source said only a part of the building was affected and that the fire had been contained.
In a statement, Anthony Chiejina, spokesman of Dangote Group, said, “We have swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP), today Wednesday 26th of June.
“There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating and there is no recorded injury or body harm to all our staff on duty.”
