The private residence of Kaduna-based Islamic scholar Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has been gutted by fire.
Daily Trust learnt the incident happened about 2.45pm on Saturday.

Details of the fire incident was yet to be ascertained at the time of filing this report but there was no record of casualties in the incident which affected the cleric’s one storey building.
Our correspondent observed that part of the building was also used as private school for girls.
Dr Gumi, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent, described it as Allah’s will.
He said science laboratory, library, kitchen and four classrooms were destroyed in the fire.
