The victim said the inferno, which broke out last week, killed his 15-year-old boy, while four children sustained first degree burns, maintaining that he had lost everything in the house.

“I’m appealing to the government to help me put back my house as, at present, I am taking shelter at the resident of a relative. In fact, I don’t know from where to start because the fire consumed everything I ever had, including all my food items and other valuables” he said.

Sallau said he could not precisely comment on the cause of the fire because he was not at home when the inferno occurred.

He said the neighbours, on sighting the blaze, rushed to the house and succeeded in rescuing four of his children, though one was trapped inside a room.

Sallau, who described the incident as an act of God, said all the properties in the house were completely burnt, noting that he sort government’s help because he lacked options.
