Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has signed a bill into law creating 83 additional districts in response to community demands.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Fintiri expressed confidence that the new districts would help curb criminal activities across the state.
He also announced that salaries for district heads and their staff will now be funded by local government councils, with periodic adjustments to account for economic conditions.
