The Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has donated N27 million to the families of Brigadier General Dzarma Kennedy Zirkushu and three soldiers killed by Boko Haram in Chibok, Borno State recently.
Gen Zirkushu, the Commander of the 28 Task Force in Chibok, a major and two other soldiers were killed in an ambush on their way to provide support to a military base in Askira Uba during an attack by ISWAP.
Gov Fintiri said the national flag would fly at half-mast for three days while the popular Lagos Street in Yola had been renamed in honour of Gen Zirkushu.
He said, “As a measure of support, I am giving the family of Brig Gen Zirkushu the sum of N10m, and another N17m to the families of the other three soldiers who died with him.”
The remains of late Brig. Gen. Zirkushu and other soldiers were buried on Friday at the military cemetery, Gibson Jalo Barracks, Yola, Adamawa State.
