Adamawa State governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has alleged a grand conspiracy by some powerful politicians to destablise the state by allowing looting to continue.
Fintiri who spoke through his Director General, Media and Communication, Solomon Kumangar, faulted the security agencies for being reluctant to enforce the curfew announced on Sunday.

He noted that some of the security chiefs in the state had kicked against the idea of imposing a curfew few days earlier to prevent the current situation and when eventually the looting started on Sunday, the security refused to act.
He argued that when curfews were announced in other states including Lagos, Plateau, Kaduna Delta and Taraba, the security agencies swiftly moved in to enforce the law, wondering why miscreants were allowed to loot freely in curfew hours in the state.
“This is a whole conspiracy against the people of Adamawa by the powers that be,” he said..
He stated that that the fact that the state had not witnessed cases of kidnapping or Boko Haram attacks in the last few month did not go well with some desperate politicians.
