The Executive Director of the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), Adedayo Thomas, has disclosed the Board’s plan to regulate Over The Top (OTT) contents.
He added that the film board was working tirelessly to regulate the influx of uncensored and unclassified works in the industry as well as bringing perpetrators of the act to book.

“Improvement in the quality and offerings of cinematographic contents and access have not only helped to improve social interactions, but it has also strengthened the fight against piracy and boosted revenue and market penetration of creative contents.
“This is why the Film Board is taking the regulation of OTT content into serious consideration,” he said.
To have conversations that will create an enabling environment for OTT operators, Thomas noted that; “a two-day conference on the Nigerian Digital Content will be convened to address issues that would enable businesses to thrive in the industry.”
With streaming platforms such as Netflix, Amazon prime, Showmax, Telcos amongst others in attendance, the discussions during the conference are expected to shape conversations, address current misconceptions and positively impact the growth of the Nigerian film Industry.
