President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo as substantive Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE).
A presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, in a statement Tuesday, noted that Fikpo had held the position in acting capacity before his appointment.

Shehu said Buhari also approved the appointment of Comrade Issa Aremu as the Director of the National Institute for Labour Studies (NILS).
He said the appointments, which were for a period of four years, took effect from May 18, 2021.
