The 2021 African Patrons Cup international polo tournament came to a flourishing climax at the foremost Fifth Chukker Polo & Country Club in Kaduna with Fifth Chukker and Dokaji teams leading two others as top winners in the weeklong fiesta that parades top rated Nigerian patrons, players in the country.

Polo Royals can authoritatively report that after a weeklong of top flight polo games pitching teams from across the country, Fifth Chukker defeated debutants, Dokaji to emerge tops as the curtain fell on the 2021 edition of the grand annual tourney.

The Atiku Abubakar led Chukkers and Senator Halliru Jika powered   Dokaji both won all their games in the round robin format competition, but the Kaduna side clinched the title on goals difference, after defeating Haske & William team 5-3 in the final.

“All the matches were tough because every team wanted this cup, but we were more and ambitious and determined to win the 2021 Patron Cup tournament, thanks to our teeming supporters we made in the end,”  Abubakar, Fifth Chukker team captain declared.

Senator Jika who hailed the fidgeting spirit of his players declared that he was proud of his team’s achievement at the international polo tourney that pitted two other experienced sides, Trappco Ranch and Haske & Williams.

“As debutants, the Dokaji polo team are the real winners, because in an international competition like the African Patron Cup, it is not easy for a first-timer to finish overall second best,” the Distinguished and polo patron told Polo Royals.

  “As I said all credits go to the Almighty, the players and our enthusiastic fans across the country as we look forward to winning the tournament next year Insha Allah,” the Senate Committee Chairman on Police Affair enthused.
