Nigeria is still the number one nation in Africa’s female football, according to the latest Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) ranking.
In the list which was released on Friday, the Super Falcons retain their position as the 36th best in the world and first in Africa.
This comes despite the team’s poor performance at the just-concluded Women’s Summer Olympics football event in Paris, where it failed to make it to the quarterfinals, after three consecutive defeats.
The team has held the position since March this year when they dropped from 34th in December 2023 to 36th.
