The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) said the sack of the governing council of the Nnamdi Azikwe University, Akwa, will send a very strong signal to other varsities’ councils doing things arbitrarily.
The leadership of ASUU also described the removal of the newly appointed vice chancellor of the institution, Dr. Bernard Odoh, as a “welcome development”, saying it was important for councils to follow already set rules in universities.
In an interview with our correspondent, ASUU President, Emmanuel Osodeke, warned governing councils of all institutions to always do the right things according to the rules.
