FG urged to roll out empowerment programmes for women

The founder and National Coordinator of Progressive Empowerment Project for Nigeria Women (PEP4NW), Mrs Ene Assumtermario Ogidi has called for more empowerment for women in the country.

She noted that the progressive women played immeasurable roles in electing the APC-led administrations from federal to local levels by mobilising votes from across polling units during the 2023 general elections, hence the need to compensate their efforts.

She made the appeal at the inauguration of national executives and 36 states and the FCT coordinators of PEP4NW yesterday in Abuja.

She lamented that despite their hard work towards electing APC political office holders at various levels, they’re not duly compensated.

“So, after the election we decided to come together in one voice to key into women empowerment programmes that’s going in the Renewed Hope administration.

“We’ve decided to go from ministry to ministry and agency to agency to seek the personalities that are buoyant enough who can empower the members of PEP1NW. Because these women have worked, we’re seeking for appointments and empowerment.

“We need empowerments to go round the states. That’s all we’re asking for. In terms of appointments and empowerments.’’

Deputy National Women Leader of the party, Hajiya Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim and 10 others were handed different awards for exemplary service and leadership to the party
