A rights activist in the Niger Delta region, Mrs Rita Lori-Ogbebor, has urged the federal government to revoke the N48bn pipeline surveillance contracted it awarded to ex-militant warlord, Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo.
She asked the government to take up the responsibility of protecting the region in order to avert a crisis worse than the one going on in the north.

She noted that a Niger Delta’s warlord, Mujahid Dokubo Asari, had spoken against the contract awarded to Tompolo.
On the Niger Delta Development Commission, she said the Act establishing the NDDC and master plan guiding the commission should be implemented to ensure equity, fairness and justice.
