Vice Chairman, Coalition of Road Safety NGOs, Yusuf Zubairu has urged the Federal Government to implement the 2021-2030 United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety.
He said this would help to achieve safer roads free of crashes and fatalities.
He spoke in Abuja weekend when the Road Safety Officers Wives Association (ROSOWA) visited Garki Hospital to donate items for road traffic victims as part of activities for the World Day of Remembrance for road traffic victims.
Zubairu identified low speed as the solution to road crashes.
He tasked the government on advocacy as well as a stiffer punishment for offenders.
Director, Operations and Clinical Services, Garki Hospital, Dr Kenneth Ityo, said the hospital had always paid attention to road traffic victims as soon as they were brought into the hospital.
