The Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) has released the fiscal Transparency and Integrity Index (TII) handbook for assessing Ministries, Departments and Agencies in 2023.

Presenting the 2023 TII methodology handbook in Abuja yesterday, the Director General of BPSR, Dasuki Arabi, said it was developed in partnership with the Centre for Fiscal Transparency and Integrity Watch (CefTIW).

He said the TII is a “detailed guide to the variables and scoring criteria that would be used in the assessment of public institutions’ compliance to fiscal transparency and accountability laws and other commitments. These variables were carefully designed to align with applicable laws and statutory instruments, ensuring a robust and comprehensive assessment process.”

He said the presentation “is coming at the backdrop that during the 2022 Transparency and Integrity Index, it was evident that most Public Institutions were yet to be versatile with the parameters used for ranking, owing to low level of awareness and compliance levels in the parameters used for ranking amongst MDAs.”
