FG trains 10,000 youths on pipeline surveillance

The National Chairman of Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas,  Dr Mike Emuh said President  Muhammadu Buhari has given approval for the training of 10,000 youths on oil and gas  pipeline surveillance and protection.

Emuh said yesterday at the flag-off of the first batch of the  training session  for 800 youths selected from 23 local government areas of Rivers State at NYSC orientation camp, Nonwa, that approval was given to train youths of Niger Delta on how to guard oil and gas pipelines across the Niger Delta region.

He said that the oil and gas pipelines had been at the mercy of criminals and the training sessions which would take place in Akwa Ibom, Abia and Rivers State would train the youths on pipeline protection.
