FG to build 30,000 affordable homes in 5 years

Family Homes Funds (FHF) Limited, in partnership with Argisol Group, has announced plans to construct 30,000 affordable homes across Nigeria in the next five years.

Speaking during the signing of the agreement, FHF’s UK Chairman, Joseph Ejim, said the project offered a much more energy-efficient and sustainable alternative to traditional hollow concrete block or brick buildings, noting that the cost saving achieved during construction continued throughout the lifespan of the buildings in the continuous savings from energy costs.

He added that the homes would be designed to appeal to a broad range of homeowners across all income groups, including public servants and those employed in the private sector, as well as self-employed entrepreneurs.

The Executive Director of Argisol UK, Giles Catchpole, noted that Africa was due for the right modern method of construction that would create homes that were stronger than conventional buildings and that were fire resistant.

He further said, “This will be a system that cuts down on reinforcement by up to 60 per cent and allows for construction to be done in one-third of the time it takes to build with traditional methods. Argisol is that and much more!”
