The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, on Wednesday urged all Nigerians to be sensitive to the needs of persons with disabilities and the protection of their rights.
She asked them to support the provision of an enabling environment that would promote the realization of the potentials of persons with disabilities to enable them live fulfilled lives and make meaningful contributions to societal growth and development.

The minister spoke in Abuja on Wednesday at a press briefing in commemoration of the 2020 International Day of People Living with Disabilities.
She recalled that in August this year, President Muhammadu Buhari approved the appointment of the Board and Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities.
