Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu has said N78 billion was released for the sponsorship of 15, 217 master’s and doctorate trainings for employees across universities, polytechnics and colleges of education in the last four years.

The minister who stated this in Abuja also said government-sponsored lecturers across universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education to a total of 43,222 conferences, incurring a total expenditure of N21, 221,232,403. He said the sum of N2, 569,860,700.00 was paid to 41,988 teaching practice supervisors while N7,593,532,154.22 was spent on institutional-based research support services and N178,316,051.24 on the production of academic research journals.

On the whole, government investment in manpower development in tertiary institutions under the ‘Buhari administration’ from TETFund alone hit N109, 791,064,715.38 which together with the amount spent on infrastructure development reached N837,016,926,844.24, he said.
