The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday approved a memo setting up a task force on food security.
Information Minister Lai Mohammed disclosed this while addressing State House reporters after a five-hour FEC meeting presided over by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.
The minister said the approval was aimed at checking the rising costs of food items in the country.
He said the government was concerned about the rising costs of food items and desired to address the situation.
According to him, members of the task force include the Ministers of Agriculture, Finance, Water Resources and Transportation.
