Prof Junaidu made this known while declaring open the 3-day workshop for the review of the accounting manual of NCCE and FCEs.
According to him, with the completion of the workshop, all FCEs in the country would henceforth, have a uniform accounting system. This, Junaidu said, will provide a mode for minimum delay in effective financial monitoring of colleges of education.
Also speaking, the chairman of NCCE, Dr Jerry Agada, said the Federal Government has released Treasury Circulars, reviewed financial regulations and public service rules, all of which are to serve as a bedrock for the NCCE and FCEs accounting manuals.
Agada explained that Federal Government’s new financial laws like Fiscal Responsibility Act, Pension Reform Act, e-payment, etcetera, are all enacted to enhance the government and its institution’s financial transactions and record keeping.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Provost of the FCE, Zaria, Dr Mouktar Ibrahim Maccido, said the choice of FCE, Zaria, as the host of the NCCE and FCEs accounting manual review signified the importance of the institution in the system.
