The Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, has revealed that the federal government will not relent in its continuous effort of according priority to technical education.

The minister who was represented by the Director, Colleges of Education, Onyeka Nwabuogo, who stated this during the sixth Combined Convocation of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Kano, noted that as vital as technical education was to the nation’s development, there was a need for the federal government to continue giving priority to it for a sustainable development.

Malam Adamu said, “Since the inception of this administration in 2015, we have made it a point of policy by ensuring that education occupies its pride of place as a vital tool of transforming human civilisation.”

Earlier in his welcome address, the Provost of the college, Prof Bashir Muhammad Fagge, said the convocation had 6,847 students who graduated from the institution between 2015 and 2020.

He said the college also deemed it fit to recognise the positive efforts of some notable individuals with awards during the convocation.

The wife of Kano State Governor, Hajiya Hafsat Ganduje, and consultant obstetrician and gynecologist, Dr Mrs Usman Mandara, were among four awardees during the ceremony.
