The Civil Defence, Immigration, Correctional and Fire Service Board has approved the promotion of 32,361 personnel of services supervised by the Ministry of Interior.
Reading out the reports of the Board shortly after its meeting on Friday night in Abuja at a press conference, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr Abubakar Ahmed Audi, stated that the list was approved at the Board’s 5th meeting for the year 2023, chaired by Minister of Interior Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
While reading out the breakdown of the number of personnel across the services, the Commandant General of NSCDC stated that there was an improvement in the numbers of promoted personnel as against the previous year’s exercise, which he attributed to the strategy adopted by the Minister.
CG Audi said: “At the Nigeria Correctional Service, the total number of those promoted out of the over 7000 that sat for the promotion exams is 4498.”

While for the Nigeria Immigration Service, he said 4598 personnel were promoted out of 6,544 who sat for the exams, adding that it cut across various ranks.
He said that for the Federal Fire Service, 1680 out of 1698 were promoted across all ranks.
Dr Audi said out of about 25,921 who sat for the exams at the NSCDC, the Board promoted 21,355 personnel.
He congratulated all the promoted personnel across Services, charging them to do more in the service of the country.
