FG promotes 1,583 senior civil servants

The Federal Government has approved the promotion of 1,583 senior civil servants in the federal civil service under the 2019 Directorate Level promotion/evaluation exercise.

This is contained in a circular by the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) with reference no: FC.6243/GOV/2019/VOL.ll/104 dated 17th March, 2020 and titled, “Promotion of Officers on SGL. 14 to 15, SGL. 15 to 16 and SGL.16 to 17 in the Federal Civil Service with effect from 01/01/2019”.

The circular was signed by the commission’s new Chairman, Dr. Tukur Bello Ingawa, who resumed duty in December, 2018.

The FCSC, which is the agency responsible for recruitment and promotion of federal workers, conducted the promotion examination in 2019 for both professional and administrative cadres in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) for them to be promoted to the next levels.

The spokesperson of the FCSC, Mrs. Felicia Eniola Babaoye, told Daily Trust on Wednesday in Abuja that the release of the promotion list is an indication of the Federal Government’s commitment to the welfare of workers and efficiency of the federal work force.

While those on SGL 15 are assistant directors, those on SGL 16 are deputy directors and those on SGL 17 are directors.

The offices affected are Administrative Officers, Librarians, Physicians, Chief Medical Officers, Programme Analysts, Nursing Officers, Medical Record Officers, Education Officers, Optometrists, Chief Dental Officers, Physiotherapists, Social Welfare Officers, State Counsels, Information Officers, Tourism Officers, Industrial Officers, Scientific Officers, Procurement Officers, Commercial Officers, Statisticians and Computer Engineer, among others.
