Local Government Focal Persons of Maternal and Reproductive Health and others have trained women on the National Self-Care Guidelines for Sexual, Reproductive and Maternal Health in Bauchi State.
The training, which held Friday in Bauchi, was organized by the Federal Ministry of Health in partnership with John Snow Incorporated, World Health Organization, Pathfinder International, White Ribbon Alliance, Association for Family and Reproductive Health, and others.

Speaking during the training, the Director and Head Family Health Department Federal Ministry of Health, Dr Salma Ibrahim Anas, said the initiative was to contribute to ongoing effort aimed at achieving better health by improving the provision and uptake of basic health services and supplies.
She said, “A major aspect of this process is the provision of opportunities to individuals and to empower them to improve their health and well-being.
Represented by Assistant Director in the Ministry Dr Alex Ugochukwu, Salma explained that state and local government councils have special roles to play in ensuring proper dissemination and implementation in the state.
