The Federal Government Tuesday asked the Federal Character Commission to prosecute any ministries, departments and agencies violating the federal character principle.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, gave the directive in Abuja, during the sensitization workshop for stakeholders in North Central and North East, on ‘Integrating Strategic Partnership with Critical Stakeholders and Advocacy on Balance Development’.

Mustapha, represented by the Federal Commissioner representing Niger State in FCC, Suleiman Barau, said the programme was aimed at addressing the lack of understanding and perception of the federal character principle among the people and stakeholders.
“Over time and since we assumed office, one critical factor that has been a recurring decimal is the lack of understanding and perception of the federal character principle among the people, and specifically among our stakeholders.”
