FG okays upgrade of universities’ facilities

Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo said this in Abuja yesterday during the official presentation of the 2012 Ministry of Education’s annual report.
Sambo, who noted that the recommendations were earlier reviewed by the National Economic Council, said the approval was to provide the best facilities and resources for all the federal and state universities in the country.
 “We must be in a position to produce graduates with the skills and competences to compete at the world stage,” he said.
 Sambo commended the Federal Ministry of Education for being the first to submit its annual report as directed by the Presidency and also for diligently implementing its four-year strategic plan.
Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Ahmed Rufai, said her ministry was committed to transforming the education sector, assuring that the ministry would continue to embrace modern technology to improve teaching and learning at all levels.
