The Federal Government has commended the European Union (EU) for awarding scholarship to over 90 Nigerians under its European Community Action Scheme for Mobility of University Students (ERASMUS+) programme.
Speaking at a webinar on pre-departure orientation for the beneficiaries, the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare, said a large number of Nigerians have benefitted from the programme since inception.
While noting that the scholarship programme is aligned with the National Youth Policy goal of youth engagement and development, he urged the beneficiaries to strive hard to surpass the achievements of their predecessors and use the knowledge to transform the country.
On his part, the Head of the European Union Delegation to Nigeria and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Ketil Karlsen, said the service the scholarship’s beneficiaries were providing for Nigeria was exceptional.
