The Minister of Transportation, Senator Saidu Alkali, on Tuesday flagged off operations on the Port Harcourt-Aba rail line.
This development comes after two previous unsuccessful attempts to commence operations on the line.
Addressing the people, including prominent traditional rulers from Rivers State, Alkali highlighted the importance of the rail line’s operation in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential priority areas.
Alkali explained that the rail line would link key ports such as Onne, Bonny, and Port-Harcourt, facilitating the efficient transportation of goods and freight through the eastern corridor.
