The federal government yesterday flagged off the construction of 250 housing units, tagged ‘Renewed Hope Estate’ in Gombe.
Gombe governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya joined the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa and Minister of State, Engr. Abdullahi T. Gwarzo, to launch the construction of the 250 units housing units near Gombe City Gate, at the outskirts of Gombe metropolis.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the flag off, Governor Yahaya expressed his delight over the choice of Gombe as one of the two states selected for the pilot programme in the Northeast sub-region.
He assured of his administration’s continued support for the Renewed Hope initiatives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Also speaking, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Dangiwa explained that the Renewed Hope houses are an initiative of the federal government targeted at addressing housing deficits in Nigeria and providing affordable houses to the citizens.
He disclosed that in the first phase of the project, the government aims to deliver 50,000 housing units across Nigeria, starting with two states from each geopolitical zone, with Gombe and Yobe states selected from the Northeast sub-region.
