FG decries attacks on journalists, voters

The Federal Government yesterday frowned at reported attacks on journalists and voters by suspected hoodlums during elections in some parts of the country.

Speaking in Abuja yesterday at a two-day policy dialogue, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, said President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration was committed to ending these undemocratic and uncultured activities through the administration of legally justifiable approaches on perpetrators.

The dialogue was organised by the Office of the AGF, the Kano State government and the Managing Conflict in Nigeria Programme of the European Union in commemoration of the 2022 International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists with the theme ‘Media, Civil Society and Violence-Free Election.’
