The Federal Government has asked for more collaborative efforts to address the challenges associated with water sanitation and hygiene across the country.
The Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu, made the appeal when he received the Network of Female Professionals in Water Sanitation And Hygiene (WASH) In Nigeria.

The minister advised Nigerians to develop the culture of good water sanitation and hygiene to reduce the outbreak of diseases associated with such practice.
He said efforts were also being put in place to end open defecation and ensure good water hygiene for Nigerians.
The president and convener of the group, Dr. Boluwaji Onabolu, had expressed concern over poor water sanitation and hygiene in the country, especially in rural areas.
She expressed the group’s readiness to partner with the Federal Ministry of Water Resources on sanitation and capacity building towards reducing the problem in the country.
She said women were mostly affected with the challenges of poor water sanitation and hygiene, hence the need for the Network of Female Professional to come up with strategies that would reduce the problem.
