Speaking at the inauguration of the hospital at Dinya village, Sambo said that Soba town would be one of the areas to benefit from the project when completed.

Sambo said that the dam project, which initially cost N5 billion was originally designed to supply water but was later reviewed to also generate electricity to parts of the state.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to the masses, emphasizing that it would do everything possible to carry them along through the execution of projects that had direct bearing on their lives.

The governor explained that poverty eradication remained one of the priorities of his administration.

Sambo commended Alhaji Kawo Ibrahim, the Chairman of Soba Local Council for footing electricity bills for the entire people of the area, since the inception of his administration. He noted that it was the first of its kind in the area.

The state chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Ya’u Usman-Jama’a, commended the chairman and people of Soba for their collective efforts at development.

According to him, the party will not hesitate to praise “whoever does well”, as well as encourage utmost sensitivity to the plight of the people.

The Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ahmed Hassan-Jumare, called on the people of the area to support the present administration in the state, to ensure the good of all.

Earlier, Kawo enumerated some projects executed by his administration. They included the distribution of 225,000 exercise books and other writing materials to 45,000 pupils in schools in the area.

He said his administration also distributed 40 cycles to the disabled, built a hospital at Dinya village and distributed N30 million worth of drugs and hospital equipment to some clinics, amongst others.

Ibrahim appealed to the state government to complete the hospital project at Maigana, to ease the difficulty faced by patients in the area. (NAN)
