FG, AFAP sign pact to enhance agricultural input supply

The federal government, through the National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF), has formalised a partnership with the African Fertiliser and Agribusiness Partnership (AFAP) to bolster Nigeria’s agricultural input supply system.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Wednesday in Abuja during the closeout event of the Agricultural Input Resilience Programme, part of the Sustain Africa initiative managed by the Office of the Vice President and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (FMAFS).

Michael Sudarkasa, President and CEO of AFAP, highlighted the significance of the collaboration, stating that it would provide a crucial boost to Nigeria’s agricultural sector. “We are pleased with the outcomes of the Agricultural Input Resilience Programme. This initiative has showcased the effectiveness of public-private partnerships in tackling critical issues within Nigeria’s agriculture. AFAP is committed to advancing sustainable agricultural development and resilience in Nigeria,” Sudarkasa said.
