FG, Abu Dhabi govt parley on supply of 14,000 Nigerian artisans

The federal government has said that it would soon conclude plans with the Government of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to supply the Gulf Kingdom with 14,000 qualified artisans from Nigeria.

The Director General (DG) of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Afiz Oluwatoyin said this on Wednesday in Abuja at a stakeholders meeting with associations of artisans and people in the hospitality and tourism industry.

The artisans whom the federal government intends to train and retrain under the Skill Up Artisan programme (SUPA) with ITF would earn golden visas from the government of Abu Dhabi.

Responding, a member of the Council of Registered Builders in Nigeria, Bldr. Tosin Umar, urged the government to endeavour it gets in touch with artisans that ITF had trained in the past and connect them to such opportunities.
