The Association of Women Town Planners in Nigeria (AWTPN) said it is planning to develop a digital education module for females in tertiary institutions to address the poor knowledge of digital tools in urban planning and other professions among women.
The chairperson of AWTPN, FCT chapter, Mrs Oluwayinka Bello, stated this at an event organised by the association to commemorate the 2023 International Women’s Day in Abuja.
AWTPN is an arm of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP).
Mrs Bello, who decried the inadequate knowledge of digital urban planning tools among female town planners, said the exposure to digital applications would stir up women’s interest in having a career in the ICT industry.
