Federal Government targets 40, 000 Adamawa Households with Food relief


On Wednesday, September 20, the National Emergency Management Agency commenced a food distribution exercise that will deliver assorted food items to more than 40, 000 households in seven liberated local government areas in Adamawa. The distribution was flagged off by Mustapha Maihaja, the NEMA Director General, in Gombi town where he was represented by Mr. Slaku Lugard, head of the federal government food distribution effort in Adamawa. According to NEMA, 206 trucks will deliver the relief supplies to include Gombi, Hong, Maiha, Mubi South, Mubi North, Michika and Madagali Local Government Areas. The distributed items include soyabeans, millet, maize flour, semovita and masavita to each of the house holds for the duration of one month. The exercise was designed after the enumeration of genuine beneficiaries in the seven areas. Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Alhaji Shuaibu Barde, District head of Gombi, thanked the federal government for the gesture.
