The Public Complaints Commission has vowed to thoroughly investigate any compliant of maladministration relating to Corporate Social Responsibility CRS in Anambra State .
Chief Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission, Abuja, Hon. Abimbola Ayo- Yusuf stated this on Friday in Awka, Anambra State, during the Commission’s one-day town hall meeting with host communities and private companies titled: Systematic and Proactive investigation into Compliance to Cooperate Social Responsibility by Private Companies in Anambra State.
The Commissioner represented by Barr. Gabriel Onyekachi said the Nigerian constitution empowered the commission adequately to investigate abuses of CRS across the country.
He urged companies to take seriously, the issues of CRS in their various communities operations, noting that if they do, it will create healthy relationship and mutual beneficials.

He also stated that the data that generated from the town hall would be relayed to the federal government for better working relations between host communities and companies.
Earlier, Federal Commissioner, Anambra State, Hon. Mrs Emelda Nwajiofor -Okoli, said the major reason for the town hall was to create awareness among the communities about their rights from those organizations operating in their communities.
According to her, many communities do not know that they have some benefits accruable to them.
She also assured that the Commission would ensure that everything is done possible to thoroughly investigate any reported case of maladministration in relation to CRS.
“Our role at public complaints Commission is to oversee and ensure compliance with CRS obligations. The Commission is empowered by the public complaints Commission Act to investigate complaints of maladministration, including those related CRS” she said.
The Anambra State commissioner for Industry, Mr Christian Udechukwu, represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Charles Soludo, Mr Chinedu Nwaoye, commended the commission for the town hall.
He appealed to both the host communities and companies to build cordial relations that would be mutual beneficial to all.
He also appealed to communities to allow companies the chance to operate without hindrance, while the companies should give more job opportunities to people from the host communities.
