Fed Housing Loans Board to recover loans

According to her, the committee is to track unremitted loans that may be floating in government ministries and agencies.
Mrs. Fika charged the committee comprising mostly management and senior staff of the board to ensure proper reconciliation of loans in beneficiary accounts in ministries, departments, agencies, military, police and paramilitary.
A press release by the board’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr Akinwale Adegbola said the need to help federal government staff to meet their housing needs necessitated this decision.
“Also, the present vulnerability of the economy due to falling oil prices and other unfavourable economic factors will invariably affect the allocations to certain sectors of the economy hence the need to look at every direction to improve on the transformation agenda of the administration especially in the area of staff welfare.
“Such funds are needed to attend to some of the backlog of loan applications by federal government workers who are daily expecting to tap into the mortgage initiative for federal staff,” the release read.
The head of the group, Alhaji Rabiu Yusuff promised that the committee will handle the assignment with diligence and commitment it deserves.
