The Federal Executive Council yesterday discussed the rift between the Senate and Acting President Yemi Osinbajo over confirmation of nominees.
The Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, told State House reporters after the FEC meeting chaired by Osinbajo that the issue came up for discussion.
The minister, however, did not provide details of the council’s resolution on the matter.
He only said the executive has an ‘excellent’ mechanism for resolving any contentious issues with the legislature.
The Senate had Tuesday resolved to stop all confirmation hearings for nominees forwarded by Osinbajo, until the question of its power to confirm appointees is resolved.
