FEC okays N66.98bn for Kashimbila-Takum-Chachangi Road rehab, N23.98bn for airport equipment

The Federal Executive Council yesterday approved N66.98bn for the rehabilitation of 91.94km Kashimbila-Takum-Chachangi Road in Taraba State.

The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, said the project would boost the transportation network in Taraba State and the entire North East.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, said the council also approved N23.98bn for the procurement of equipment for airports across the country.

Mohammed said the equipment to be procured included radio communication systems for some control towers and instrument landing systems for some airports located in Akure, Benin, Calabar, Ibadan, Ilorin, Jos, Minna, Owerri, Sokoto, Yola, Kaduna and Enugu.

He said N14bn was approved for the procurement of instrument landing systems for Lagos Abuja, Katsina and Port Harcourt airports. 

The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, said FEC approved the enactment of the Federal Fire and Rescue Service Establishment Act 2022.
