The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved N36.130 billion for the rehabilitation of 118.9km Keffi-Nasarawa-Toto Road in Nasarawa State.

The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, announced this on Wednesday while briefing State House reporters after the federal cabinet’s meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

He said the contract was awarded to Messrs. Wiss Shinu Engineering Limited.

The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, on his part, said the council approved N5.65 billion for the maintenance of air terminals in Abuja and Port Harcourt airports for three years.

The council also approved N469.6 million for parts of L3 xray machine for clinics at the airports in Abuja, Kano and Lagos airports.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, said the council approved the revised estimated total cost of a contract for the extension of the Outer Southern Expressway in the Southern part of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to Messrs Salimi Nigeria Limited.

He said the contract augmentation sought and approved was in the sum of N1,349,223,700.75, raising the total contract sum from N17,228,709,648.12 to N18,577,933,348.05. He said the contract would be completed in 12 months.

Mohammed said the council also approved the revised cost for the construction of the National Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center in Abuja currently under 45 per cent completion due to the rising cost of critical materials.
