The Federal Executive Council on Wednesday approved N190.5m for the purchase of a microscope by the University of Ibadan, Oyo State.
The Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, announced this to reporters after the meeting. Nwajiuba said the council approved the request of the university authorities to buy the equipment because the current one being used by the famous institution had become obsolete.

He said it was in continuation of the efforts of the federal government to revitalize and repurpose the education sector.
He said: “This is a microscope which is totally directed at enhancing whatever material, looking at nuclear composition of its molecular nature.”
