‘FCT’s ban on open grazing will curtail farmers, herders’ clashes’

The Gomo of Kuje, Haruna Tanko Jibrin, has said the ban on open grazing by the Minister of the FCT, Muhammad Musa Bello, will address the incessant cases of farmers and herders clashes in the territory.

Alhaji Jibrin, while speaking with our reporter at the weekend, said such a move by the FCT Administration (FCTA) was a good one, adding that it would also help to differentiate the indigenous herders and immigrant ones.

He said, “Honestly speaking, I can tell you that I am one of those that were very happy when I heard it over the news about the ban on open grazing by the FCT minister.”

The chief also said the mapping out four area councils by the minister for grazing was also a good move, even as he urged the FCTA to come up with modalities towards addressing the issue of cattle routes.
