The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has vaccinated 40,000 residents of the territory in the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination exercise.
The Acting Executive Secretary, FCT Primary Healthcare Board, Dr. Nda-Eyo Iwot, who made this known while monitoring the vaccination of FCT lawmakers said the figure is part of the 1million doses so far inoculated nationwide.

He explained that the AstraZeneca vaccine was safe and urged residents to ignore the conspiracy theories and fake news being pushed on social media, stressing that no known adverse effect of the vaccine has been recorded.
The Permanent Secretary of the FCTA, Mr. Adesola Olusade, while commending the lawmakers for publicly taking the vaccine said the move would validate the efficacy and safety of the AstraZeneca vaccine, and also boost public confidence in the exercise.
