FCT-UBEB, China organise cultural festival in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory Universal Basic Education Board (FCT-UBEB) in collaboration with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, has organised a festival to showcase the cultural heritages of both countries.

The occasion, under the theme ‘Rhythm of Unity’ was held at the Government Secondary School, Garki, Abuja, on Thursday.
 
The Executive Secretary of the FCT-UBEB, Dr Adamu Jatau Noma, in a message, said the programme gave the students the opportunity to participate in educational activities.
 
“It is worthy of note that our bilateral relationship with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China has come a long way,” he said. 
 
He applauded the government of China for donating the Model Primary School, Nyanya to the board.
He said China has also donated some computers and accessories as well as learning materials to facilitate learning in the FCT.
 
The China Cultural Councillor in Nigeria, Mr. Yan Xiangdong, said the programme would enhance cultural and educational development of children in secondary schools.
 
He said the embassy would continue to support the FCT-UBEB and the country in the pursuit of functional education.
City News observed that music, fashion design, dances, poetry, food, arts, and literature among others were showcased by the students.
