The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) senator-elect on the platform of the Labour Party (LP), Hajiya Ireti Kingibe, has appealed to candidates of the other parties who contested the February 25, poll with her to come together and work with her in the interest of development of the capital city.
She said she would not abandon but continue with the legacies of the outgoing FCT Senator, Philip Aduda.
Addressing a press conference yesterday in Abuja, Ireti said, “The FCT has had several senators before me and they have all given their input into making the FCT what it is today. My predecessor (Aduda) has given FCT his best in the last 12 years. For that, we also thank him, and I would like him to know that I am willing to continue to work from wherever he has left.
“I would also like to reach out to them (co-contestants), make them understand that this whole thing is not me. If we all join hands, we can move the FCT to places that it has not been before. I am ready to work with everybody irrespective of parties that contested with me.
