FCT schools, CODE hold debate on violence against boys

The Connected Development (CODE) and selected schools in the FCT have held an inter-school debate to draw attention to the growing violence, sexual and other forms of abuse against school boys.

Speaking at the event on Tuesday in Abuja, the Chief Executive of CODE, Hamzat Lawal, said that the aim of the event was to provide a platform for students from different schools to engage in a healthy debate on the topic, “Boys cannot be abused”.

Also, Hajiya Nafisat Kote of the Junior Secondary School (JSS) Gender Unit in FCT Universal Basic education (SUBEB) noted that it was not only girls that were to be empowered on protection.
