The FCT is set to feature one male team comprising of 18 players and 2 officials at the forthcoming National Handball championship taking place in the ancient city of Benin from July 12th to 18th, 2021.
According to the FCT’s Acting Director of Sports, Mr Luka Istifanus, the team is prepared to fight for honours.

“Our team is prepared for the championship and they have promised to do their best and bring more glory to the FCT. We have given them the major support to succeed and they will definitely do us proud,” he said.
It will be noted that Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) secretary-general, Maigidansanma Mohammed in a statement also outlined start dates for other competitions including the National Under 12/15 Handball Championship scheduled to hold in Sokoto from the 30 July – 8 August 2021.
Four teams (two teams apiece for the male and female category) will get promotion into the top tier Prudent Energy Handball Premier League from the Division One League which will hold in Abuja from 8-23 October 2021.
Meanwhile, FCT has been performing credibly well in tournaments participated in so far in 2021.
Between May and June, the FCT participated in the zonal male and female volleyball classic in Jos and placed second in the male category while emerging champions in the female U-17 volleyball north championship in Jos.
During the National Athletics’ Invitation in Lagos, FCT came first and second while coming first in the National Basketball Championship, Abuja.
