FCT poultry farmers celebrate Egg Day

The Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN), FCT chapter, has celebrated World Egg Day, highlighting the essential roles of eggs in nutrition globally.

The event also highlights the pressing challenges facing by the poultry industry in the country.

October 11 every year is celebrated as the World Egg Day drawing participation from poultry farmers, industry practitioners, and government officials in Abuja.

“I want to use this medium to appreciate and commend the efforts of poultry farmers and practitioners across Nigeria, particularly in FCT, for their perseverance, resilience, and consistency in ensuring the availability of eggs despite numerous challenges,” Musa Hakeem, Secretary of PAN FCT chapter, said.

Ibrahim Lamidi, the ex-official of the association, said the farmers tried to see how the government could intervene, but are still waiting for many things.
